It’s great to be a fan.

When you’re a fan, you have an itch...and it’s satisfied by whatever you like to read, watch...whatever. You can be a fan of a sports team, a film director, a line of stuffed animals, a genre...or a medium, like comics.

And no matter what anyone tells you, you’re allowed to be a fan of whatever you want. It’s your thing. YOU are the fan.

Part of the fun of being a fan is in sharing one’s passions with others. I’ve been sharing my “faves” in the back of my United Fanzine Organization column every issue, but that’s usually just a bunch of text...passing mentions that don’t convey what I love as well as I could.

I’ve been reading a lot of comics and graphic novels. I’ve been watching a few video shorts, TV shows and movies. Some are conventional, some aren’t. I thought it might be fun to share them with you.

Voila! I present FANzine! This is a “passion project” in the most literal sense as I’m going to present my passions to the world. I’ll share some imagery, some commentary and hopefully a means for you to dig down your own rabbit hole and become a fan yourself.

This issue is comics/zines/illustration-centric, but future issues will incorporate different audio/visual sources as well.
